Many Things All At Once

There have been a lot of things going on around here. I know I say that a lot but really … it HAS!  We are getting new flooring in the downstairs part of my home. Really cool flooring that I have been wanting for forever. The flooring was suppose to be here on Thursday, start work on Monday. Of course the flooring was delayed. Since my darling husband is ridiculously thrifty (I am being kind here) he decided we would tear out the old flooring ourselves. Like a little busy bee, I have been emptying rooms & moving things around. I moved the office into my bedroom and it is crammed in a very scary way. Now we’re looking at June 27th arrival, who knows when install. At first I thought it would be great to have my computer in my bedroom. It would force me to go to bed at a decent hour since the spouse HAS to be in bed at a decent time.

I was wrong.

I do my best everything ay night. I always have. I hardly ever edit, blog, design during the day. Daytime is for shooting, teaching my son, having meetings, volunteering … you get my point.  A lot of things are falling by the wayside. Things like blogging, designing new concepts and materials, and  It’s frustrating to be out of sorts. Not to mention the disarray in ever inch of the upper level of our home. I go through phases of organization but this is making my skin crawl. Things stacked every which way, tripping over books and boxes everywhere. It’s too much.

The good news? I have yet another project! 🙂 The office is ALL MINE! Since we are making changes, we decided that I truly need a dedicated space. YAY! This is probably because I have kept the spouse up at night finishing up “just one last thing”. Now I have to decide how to decorate. In a former life, I thought I might be an interior designer. I love that I get to feed that obsession. So much fun!

We had a dose of summer for about four days. The rain came back today and it was just plain depressing. Why oh why did I ever leave the East Coast? What do you do, when you have a few rain free days? You do this:

I love this little boy! He reminds me so much of my son when he was this age. Full of smiles and laughter. He doesn’t slow down one bit except to laugh. He loves to play with the big boys. He was a pleasure just to be around. Made me wish for another baby, just so I could sit and play again.
